  • Maybe try something twisted like you have to create poison foods for dictators or something like that?

Or something bizarre like you have to cook food using unconventional household objects.

  • Great post! Really appreciate you posting the link as well!

  • tulamide has excellent advice

  • Well, it's all opinion based, so here is mine:

I would study old Law and Orders or other gritty crime dramas before they allowed much swearing on TV. With good writing, you don't even notice it, at least for me.

That being said, if you are OK with swearing, I would use it sparingly, to give it more impact!

Just my opinion. You know the nature of the game and how things fit better than us

  • I did not know this existed! Thank you for informing us! I can't wait to watch it!

  • It's still good you posted and answered a simple mistake like this.

I wonder if it would be beneficial to create a separate forum topic for posts like these.

I think I may post relevant simple mistakes when I start my next game.

  • hi WolfPaw. Maybe you could print the online pages of the manual to .PDF format.

It may take some work and time, but at least you will have something.

  • Excellent postings! Thank you all!

  • This does cost money but so far of what I have seen I think it's well worth the price and still in reach.

I LOVE the fact they give you a free version that really isn't that limited.

If you purchased this without using it and you are disappointed, it's your own fault, because you get enough with the free version to determine that.

Plus I think they are very aggressive in constantly improving this product. There are engines out there that you pay for but hardly EVER get an update or improvement.

This gives me the ability to make a decent game first and then pay later if I want to go to the next step. Very little risk and I appreciate that!

  • I always liked a slight variety of things to do, like Xevious where you can bomb the ground as well as shoot.

In addition, I prefer some sort of strategy other than just dodging and shooting, like maybe shooting a bomb that would cause a chain reaction with a formation

  • Is it illegal to totally finish a game, then go on kickstarter and pretend you are just starting it? Then just see how much money you collect and a few months later announce 'done!'

  • You can always throw in something magical or bizarre.

For example, maybe your character has a magic sticker book, and instead of 'killing' the monsters, they get put in your sticker book.

Or instead of dying, they get put in balloons or bubbles and then float away.

  • Excellent. Just joined Gravatar

  • I like that idea by Wrangler! Maybe something can become of that!

  • Hello everyone! I was looking for this thread and finally found it.

My name is Andrew/Andy (call me either) and I have always been interested in game development.

I have a BS in computer science and have programmed in a wide variety of languages.

In the past I have always focused on making my own game engine, which is a mistake if you want to make games. I learned if you are making a game engine, you are making a game engine and not making a game.

I looked at many different game engines and tried a few, and I think this one will fit the bill for now. It looks very promising and I am very impressed.

I cannot wait to master this tool and make something worthwhile.

I hope to make some really good games and hopefully become part of a small team to make some really good stuff.

Right now, I am going through the tutorials.

    Cheers!
