  • Zenox, the time limit was 3 minutes to lock in your comment from edits, I've update it to 10 minutes now, let me know if you have more problems with it.

I'm fairly against having it much longer because if people are editing their comments it can break the flow of the comments easily, puts others out of context, it's a lot less formal than other parts of the site so I wouldn't worry too much about errors.

  • Fair enough.

    Thanks

  • Tom

I'm sure you're aware but I just got the message below trying to access this site. All ok 5 mins later.

  • Hi Zenox,

Thanks for reporting appreciate it! It was just offline for a few minutes as I updated the website. I'm going to work on getting it to show a friendlier message at some point though.

If it happens again it's 99% likely because I'm uploading new files, wait a few minutes and try again.

  • Ok, found the issue, it's not that I'm not allowed in some sections, it's that when I try to post a message for the first time i get this :

    Error

Only members with sufficient permission can access this page.

A security error has occurred with authentication.

Please ensure that all cookies are enabled on your web browser, you are not using a saved or cached copy of the page, and your Firewall/Proxy settings are not hiding or masking your IP address.

But if I get stubborn, go back to the previous page and try again, it works!

  • Are there still issues with the new server setup?

On the previous forum/server, I never had any issue connecting, but I now regularly get the 'can't establish a connection to the server at www.scirra.com' message.

If it's Tom just tweaking, can I suggest using Twitter to inform people of the site status. Just a thought.

  • Sorry! Will fix this asap.

  • I've deleted all his posts they were only up for 40 mins.

  • It could help if there was a mandatory tag which everyone had to choose while posting a tutorial - "Construct Classic","Construct 2" and "Other". What do you think?

  • Yes I agree, but some tutorials might no be about either is the problem. Most incorrectly tagged tutorials will be correctly tagged by us though.

  • Most incorrectly tagged tutorials will be correctly tagged by us though.

    That's good.

  • Currently trying to work on my tutorial. Sadly all over the website (at least in the chat and in the tutorial submitter) the multiply sign * is interpeted as a control code and omitted in the text. I think it is as soon as there are two or more multiply signs in one line (which happens quite often if you present a formula). Also, if trying to use the code icon of the tutorial submitter, the text is still converted, and instead of the multiply signs you see the control code, e.g. '<em>', '</em>', etc.
