  • Hey Tom,

This is pretty important, it seems that the comment system is a little bit buggy at the moment. It's been like this for awhile.

On the arcade, tutorial section and basically any part of the site..

I can edit anything, anyone says.

This is pretty bad! I just made Socialife say

"I love you Rory" instead of the original "I love you Ashley".

It stays that way even after refreshing the site.

I'm assuming it's some sort of permissions problem?

EDIT: Ah, I just realized this is no longer a problem on the new site design, hopefully everything is converted soon :P

  • Thanks for pointing this out. However, while I get you simply wanted to test if it was working or not, do not edit people's comments to change what they are saying. If you wanted to test it you could have added something else like a punctuation mark on a new line. What comment did you edit so I can change it back?

  • Sorry Arima, the top 3 for the topic I posted.

  • Once you reach a certain amount of rep, the website trusts you. This allows you to do more things, such as edit peoples comments. It's meant to be for if you see spam, etc.

Oh, I didn't realize that, thanks for clearing it up. You sure it's a good idea though? We might get people changing other people's declarations of their love for Ashley to themselves. Or something. :D

  • Hmmm having a look through the code it appears you shouldn't be able to do this actually, I was wrong. The new comment system (currently on releases and the blog) fixes this issue though. It will be rolled out everywhere soon.

  • Does the site/forum itself respond differently to people with varying levels of rep anymore?

  • Interesting...
