Through clever use of layers and merge modes, this template allows you to convert any image you like into a breakout game.

The result is the illusion that each brick has been hand-made - and that the whole picture is made up of many mini-pictures. The effect is so perfect that when a brick is destroyed so is a chunk of the underlying image! Originally created as a speedy way of creating a regular breakout game, the potential for both speed and novelty became clear very quickly. One novel use might be to make videos that 'fade' corporate logos one chunk at a time, then sell the result as a stand-alone product.

As a bonus this template includes 8 meticulously crafted sprites that tesselate perfectly which each other. This means you can break away from the classic 'all rectangles' style and make level shapes that suite your pictures. These sprites make very careful use of alpha to ensure the illusion isn't broken.

The 'code' behind this template is so ellegant that it uses a total of just 21 events. The real brains behind the game comes from the various image blending modes used (both between different layers and inside them).

To create new levels simply duplicate an existing one, change the image, and voila - there's no limit to the number of levels you can add, or the variety they can take. Plus there's NO need to have level specific Event Sheets ^_^
