Windows XP won't die!!

A bug so threatening that Microsoft had to release a patch for Windows XP this week 5 years after the end of the life phase. Market share for Windows XP currently sits around 3% which is still tens of million computers.

With a market share like that, it's pretty much dead for normal consumers.

I expect the only reason for the patch was, so that servers which run on XP are secure. Some companies are either forced to or have a philosophy of not changing a running system.
