• Hello everyone,

I'm a Graphic artist from Brazil and have aways loved making games, but i'm terrible in programming.. i have done some fell projects with my brother, but nothing special so far.

I've been working alot those last days and i finally have some time to spend, i'm playing around with construct 2.. i have been using mmf2 for years now and i really like the GUI and the engine that costruct 2 offers (sorry about my bad english) are amazing and awsome!

i was wondering if anyone here would like to make some project together, i have 2 projects and im free to join any.. soon i will post the demo of my game "Lost Land: The Secret Of Seaguls"

(super old screen-shot of the game, put old on it, that is not the seagul btw and the grid dosen't exist is just a helper ..)

Here is my blog with alot of my art:

    Doodle-Knoodle i would love to see some C+C ...

  • That link to your blog doesn't work. For anyone that reads this, open the image in a new tab to view the proper size of the image.

It looks pretty good, although there is a bit of inconsistency with the way the outlines are used which makes it look weird -- some of the outlines are black, and some of them are just a slightly darker colour. Also the grid doesn't look like it has much importance? It looks like its trying to be tiles, but the circles of the island just make it seem like the grid is an overlay on top. Also, that bird looks a bit too colourful for a Seagull!

  • Thanks for the tips Alspal, all of you mentioned had been already fixed, but thanks anyway i fixed the link to my blog.

the green bird is a parot, the seaguls are in the "new" screen-shots (they look way better nowadays.). Sorry i will post the last version when i arrive home today i only have it in my computer in my studio.

  • i would align the wooden boat to the isometric grid to make a view of perspective better, also if we see the reflection of the stone in the water, we should see the underwater shore of the island, that would be very cool. And the water is plain blue, maybe you should try adding more texture to it or even animation..idk. Overall this seems to be a nice game, i'm eager to try it. gl

  • im sorry for those old pictures i posted, almost all mistakes you mentioned, 4aKiss, gladly have been fixed already, thanks for the cool tips though.

i gonna try to post the flash version im working on now.

  • As i promise, the demo. (it's a exe version, the flash one i will put when i arrive home next week)

Lost Land - The Secret of the Seaguls

    Mirror

    hope you guys enjoy it.

the musics are all done by me, that why sound kinda crappy

PS: there is a extra "level" if you hit "0" (zero) in the keyboard.

  • Well there is still hell a lot of things to do! I noticed that only basic movement mechanics work, but what about survival? I think is all about that in this game. Question is, what's the point to hang around in the small island searching for something if i can smoke a spliff under a palm and not get hungry (what's in reality is impossible)? Also what about sharks and big waves? The user has almost no interaction abilities with the surroundings and objects (except boat). Interaction and reaction are the main components of many addicting games, including Lost Land v2. So now go and make the barrelman and that big shark hungry, otherwise one day they may start spliffing together. Make it hard to survive, as it really is.

What i did like the most are the footprints in the sand - the details make the value.

Hopefully you won't stop doing what u r doing, give me a notice when u have a new version. GL!

  • Thanks 4aKiss that was a really good critic! the game is not done yet, is basic just the engine with alot of bugs, i hope i find someone to help me with the codding and the gameplay, i'm almost without time, i only have an hour per day.. work sucks!

  • Bem-vindo, mas na pr?xima, use o t?pico oficial de apresenta??o ;)

Welcome, but next time post on the official "introduce yourself" topic

Valeu 7Soul, ? que n?o era muito s? uma introdu??o, ent?o resolvi criar um topico para discutir sobre a engine e o meu projeto, que queria tentar converter do multimidia fulsion 2 para o Construct.

7Soul Thanks, that was not only an introduction, so I decided to create a topic to discuss on the engine and my project, I wanted to try to convert the multimedia fulsion 2 to Construct.
