I recently have been working some more on 3dswing.com and tutorials and I added some info on basics.
If you've ever taken any higher level math classes, you should be familiar with the fact that the Z dimension is the name for the 3rd dimension in standard 3D Coordinate systems.
For beginners the Z-Coordinate System actually goes in the opposite direction from what you would assume.
Positive goes "down" (into the screen).
Negative goes "up" towards the screen.

I think the next tutorial I want to work on is a video tutorial for morph animations. I've seen a lot of work from others on the topic written, and that's going to be very helpful for getting a good set of instructions together.
