  • I am looking to make a partnership with an artist to help on my gaming projects. I had an artist for previous projects but am not sure about future projects. I am looking for someone who wants to get in on my new company to help make many games for a percentage of all profits.

I have not made any cash on the game i have made thus far. But i have one game up feel free to check it out. I also have someone working on PR/Marketing. i am hoping the popularity of the games will get there.

I have many ideas for games and i am not a great Graphic artist. I am learning a bit. I know i'm not offering Paid work upfront. I am offering 10% of all profits on games made and worked on. if the popularity is there this could be a substantial amount. I will write up an agreement to this also.

please feel free to contact me here

    Thank you for your time.

  • 10% sounds extremely low. How do you justify you keeping 90%?

  • please feel free to do some research on averages for percentages as i have. im not sure what your basing your extremely low statement on.

  • Can you post the links to your sources?

    I've done profit-shares before, and then I worked for a 50/50 split.

  • please search average percentages for artist on game design I am sure you will see what industry average is. Thank you so much for your time and attention to my post.

  • Can't find profit-share %, only salary rates. Can't you just post the links to you sources?

  • I'm pretty sure artists get a salary.

  • Depends on the amount of work, but 10 % is pretty low <img src="smileys/smiley24.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • what would you say is fair?

  • Can't find those links to your sources? <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Between 30-50% is standard (from my experience and what I've seen on forums). if there's more members in the team the % will go down. It also depends on the game you're developing. An hidden object game is much more work than an quiz game for a game artist.

  • no i have the sources but i am asking what you feel not showing post online of others. many sources have noted 10% - 20% i am not one to post searches of items. The whole point of this post is to see who is interested not talk about percentages.

  • Can you PM me the links? I can't find anything to backup you claims.

And I can't remember seeing any posts (the last 3 years) with a so low %.
