• How do i actually get the image manipulator to show a loaded file at a certain position??

  • I don't think it can do this at the moment... you'd have to save the image to a file and display it some other way.

  • Is there any other way to load an external user inputted image?

  • I dont think anything can right now... you might be able to load it in to a Sprite though (load animation frame from file).

  • Right well is there any chance for the next version of getting the image manipulator to be able to load an image onto the screen at a chosen position, the plugin seems a bit useless if it can't do that, you have all the effects but you can't even see anything

    Thanks!

  • 0.91's image manipulator can transfer its content to any sprite object. Hope that does it for you!

  • That will help a lot towards my goal .

Can you implement it saving to an image file from a selected sprite object? Like making an image from an onscreen sprite? Then the object actually becomes fully useful

  • I'm not sure you fully understand the purpose of the object. To me it seems it's meant to be used to modify files on disks (bmp, png files), more than to display and put effects on sprites onscreen which can be done via shaders.

Yeah, but how are you going to modify an image file if there's no way to display or save the image file? That's what this conversation is about.

  • The object CAN save.. that's why I don't really understand this discussion.

  • It is an image object, it is meant to do stuff with images, if not, call it something else. What is the point in an image object if it cannot do stuff with images

And if you read what i said i asked to save an image from a sprite, try and do that with shaders.

Perhaps I wasn't clear... yes, the object is meant to open from disk, manipulate the image, and save images to disk. But there was no way to display the opened files. Putting the image into a sprite is a way to visually see on the screen what image file you're manipulating.

  • Exactly my point deadeye your on the ball

The next version even for this little change will be a lot better

  • Any chance if it can save an image from an on screen sprite and also from a selected area of the layout? That would be amazing!
