Size Bug?

220 Food Sprites in 16x16 pixel size. Perfect for items for a retro style game.
  • Well I compiled my exe and it was a bit over 3meg. After it I made some minor changes like changed text etc. and now it was 7meg then I again did some very small changes it jumped to 11 and after that 20!!!!!!!! There must be something wrong with it. No I don't have resources or anything.

  • Were you importing large images? Save your .cap, close Construct, reopen it, reopen your .cap and export it again. Is it smaller?

  • now the size doesn't change anymore. Il change few words and see that it does.

  • There's something wrong with text object. I added about 30 letters and it went from 20mb to 36mb!!!

    Il play around and see if I notice where it cames from.

    Cap file is 80mb Oo

    Correct 115mb now -.-

  • Zomg I changed one variable from 0 to 1 and size over 260mb now xD... Anyone else want this doome d cap? oh right its a bit big... This is sooo weird! And I'd call this EMERGENCY SITUATION!

    Holy Crap wont open that cap never even it's the latest version of my newgame... Darn! I tried with other cap and it seemed to work atleast it grow only 7kt when I added new sprite...

    PS To those wondering does it take long to work with big caps YES IT does 260mb takes like 20sec to save even more to load...

  • Which build are you using? Do you have a backup of the file when it was small and steps to reproduce the expanding filesize problem? It'd be too difficult to send a file as big as 200mb+!

  • I use families all the time and have never had this problem, so assuming it's a one-off, using families should be fine.
