  • Hi, I'm new to construct and am using construct classic

My question is how do I find the Script Editor for Python.

I believe I read on the forum somewhere that construct classic contains a script editor. I know it contains a picture editor does it contain a script editor also?

    Thanks

  • Try Construct 3

  • Yes, there is a script editor.

In the event sheet editor right-click on an empty space and select "Insert script". This will open the script editor.

Scripting must be enabled for Python scripting. If it isn't already (via application properties -> runtime properties -> enable scripting) you will be asked to enable it when selecting "Insert script" for the first time.

...And welcome to the forums :)

  • Hi Thank you. I found it. I think Construct is an excellent Game Tool...

  • Hi, I have one more question? What is a .persist file?

    Thanks

  • I think it saves the settings of the Construct editor from when you last closed the .cap file. It's sort of like a bookmark, letting you pick up where you last left your game.

You don't need a .persist file to use the accompanying .cap, but it helps.

    Oh, and welcome to the forums, dude.<img src="smileys/smiley16.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • As a follow-up to TheBen's reply...

persist files are small xml structures that show the current state of opened layouts etc, and can now be disabled in prefs - as they are known to cause problems for some when closing Construct.
