This would be a great object to have, IE WAV to MP3 with xkbps, vice versa and the same with video (avi to iPod Mp4 etc).

All the software out for this already is pretty costly though, is this possible for an object in the future or are there too many complicated licensing issues?

The thing is, if someone made an object, it would be just as hard as them making a free program that does it really (as far as i know).

What, like the Audio Converter object?

It lists PCM (WAV) and MPEG Layer 3 (MP3) in codecs for me so I guess it can convert between MP3 and WAV...
