Importing JS scripts from project subfolders?

Let's say I have the following project structure:

-- /Scripts -- main.js ---- /common ---- utils.js

If I try to import common.js from main.js like this:

import * as Utils from "./common/utils.js"

import * as Utils from "./utils.js"

It is intentional: currently all exported files are flattened to a single directory. It was done years ago probably as it simplified some cases around fetching project files, but it's probably a mistake. However it is now difficult to change as fixing that would break all existing projects that depend on the flat folder structure.
