How do I spawn particles

Hi everyone

I am able to create particles but if I spawn an emitter from the events screen, it doesn't appear. I've tried adding in the different parameters to the emitter in the event, but its always blank.

However, if I drag an emitter onto the screen, then the event will spawn the particles (in addition to the one on screen).

What am I missing?
