How do I snapshot an iframe?

I found an old post from 2 years ago that mentioned there was no API for it, but I wanted to check if things have changed or there is a work around.

I'd like to canvas snapshop a section of my layout and part of that in an iframe.

Does anyone know if this is now possible with any extra plugins or if there is a work around (Like loading an image from an iframe etc...)

In general it's not possible, for security reasons. E.g. if it was supported you could open someone's bank account in an iframe, screenshot it, then send yourself the picture.

Btw, the Screenshot button in debug mode does not capture iframes. Is this intended or just a limitation? Was nice to make easy screens but some content is in iframes. 🤔

The screenshot button does 'snapshot canvas', which only copies the canvas, not any elements floating over it. As I mentioned it's not possible in general to screenshot a cross-origin iframe anyway.
