  • I want to create a procedural map with distance calculation (for best records). I have 10 levels, I would like to cut them. and have the 11th level randomly replenish the cut scene pieces.

why would I want to cut the scene?

because I have a lot of objects, scenery, traps. and that I want people to be able to test their skills.

I've looked at the tutorials that talk about procedural maps, but I can't find what I want to do.

Thank you in advance for your help. Cordially.

  • hello, yes, that's pretty much it. except I wanted to make an infinite level with a distance variable in meters.

but I tried. I have some problem with my traps. a blade that spins, but does not appear when orbit is activated. and also with my block of stones which falls too low, and which does not return to their initial position.

    edit:

I tried to put my blocks as the scene type:"start" and everything works correctly. but when I stage them type: "" it doesn't work anymore. it's the same with my rotary blades.

  • dop2000 i buy your demo. I can't get it to work. I use demo D

    I don't understand my mistake.

  • Make sure all your scenes are below and to the left from the layout left edge.

There is also a better version of the demo, where you can configure scenes as templates and store them on a separate layout.

  • there are many problems. so each time I created more sprites, more events. it's a shame that everything is so complicated, contrary to what we can read on the web

  • As I said, you can use the updated version with templates. There you can add any new sprites to the hierarchy, no need to change the code every time.

  • i dont understand. I have already said it. I bought the pack 10 days ago.

    p,s. i have the 1.4 version

  • You mean version 1.4 of my "Random Level Generator Template for Platformer Games"?

Please download version 1.6, I'm talking about this project file:

  • yes i purchase your template, i use the demo D "name layout"

    it's written 1.4, last update 31 December 2020

  • I don't know why you got version 1.4, I updated it a long time ago..

kodd.la.d If you go to "Downloads" in the Asset Store, you should be able to download the latest version, which is 1.6:

    construct.net/en/game-assets/downloads

If this doesn't work, please email me at doperst2006(at)gmail.com

  • you sent me a link: howtoconstructdemos.com/generate-random-levels-from-pre-built-scenes

and I took the itch.io link. I shouldn't have taken this one??

  • Sorry, I thought you purchased it from Construct Asset Store.

I uploaded version 1.6 to itch.io, you should be able to download it now. Or email me and I'll send it to you.
