How do I import many images as separate animations into one sprite,with animation name=file name

I have close to 2000 small images that I need to import into a single sprite

If i drag them they all get imported into the same animation as different frames

But i want to import each as a separate animation and also name each animation with the same name as the file name.

Is there any way to do this in a more automated way at edit time, rather than manually creating 2000 animations and then importing each file

I found out from another thread that importing zip files will achieve this :-)
