Very simple code without excess options (15 events for server and 11 events for client)
  • Hi,

I'm completely new to Construct 3 and currently am trying to create a small 2D project for college.

My issue is the following :

    - I currently have two scenes(layouts), 1st being the starting menu and 2nd being the first frame of the game

    - Each layout has an event sheet which is correctly attached in the properties menu.

Currently, only the first event sheet is working. As soon as I leave the starting menu and start on the second scene, my events don't work. I tested another event which didn't depend on any parent event and it worked.

  • If the event sheets are hooked up correctly then there's not enough info in the post. What specific events are not working ? What is the event that you mentioned is working ?

  • All events shown in the screenshot are not working.

First event is a black fade in, supposed to start when the 2nd scene appears.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Add other unrelated events see if it runs them like setting a global variable value. If not then it's problem with the event sheet set up.

  • Thanks for the advice.

I tried with another unrelated event (making an arrow turn if the background picture was visible on screen) and it worked immediately. The other events are still not working.

  • Hmm and this fade object works in other layout ? Check in debug view that there is an instance of that object in the second layout. You may have to share link to the project file to get more help.

  • Okay so I found solutions for each event.

Second event was a loop for fondu effect, which didn't work because the "destroy" option in the effect's properties was activated.

For the first event, which was a fade in that worked in the other scene, I didn't understand what the problem was, but the event worked by creating another black square to do the fade in.

    Thanks for your answers !
