  • 10 years ago I started a project in Construct 2, a monster collection RPG set in a world of necromancers. I managed to put together a vertical slice with all the mechanics and features I wanted, and I was very proud. You can see it here...

However it was so horribly inefficient and bloated because of my lack of experience, any extra monsters, attacks, dialogue, quests, locations, dungeons, would have been a nightmare to start adding. If you were to start this kind of project from scratch in C3, how would you organize it from the start, what advice would you have for first steps to make things as simple as possible to add more?

    Thank you.

  • I remade my game from scratch last month and just knowing what i wanted to achieve and what things are possible made things alot easier because of the practice and experience of the first time.

So just keep doing it. and if it gets too messy, bite the bullet and start from scratch, it will save time in the long run.
