Construct 3 any news?

From the Asset Store
Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!

i bought fusion developer edition in humble bundle with all the exporters incl. the new uwp exporter for 15$ plus some games and their code. its a nice engine and "feels" more safe with the native exporters but the editor seams prehistoric gives me the feeling of windows 95 era...a bloody labyrinth. i learned many things to be honest and i like it but the editor gives me headaches every time.for mmf users is the simplest thing for a c2 user is a maze... to be honest with a discount i'll propably go for fusion 3. fusion 2.5 except fnaf gave games like odallus and oniken and many other successful games also in steam. its the father of all (construct classic and c2, gamesalad, stencyl blah blah blah) it gave the idea of make games without coding.

i also dont understand some comments like "c3 should wait until fusion 3 comes out". C2 is different has a specific plan to html5 which fusion has not. users of fusion will continue to use fusion at least the majority of them and construct 2 users will continue to use construct products either or why not buy both of them due steam sales. i dont know i've got a feeling that c3 will appear suddenly one day and i think it will be in '17. Game maker if you know coding gml is miles ahead of both of them right now with the 2nd version. i read very good comments for better frame rates and the editors are great (animation/sprite editor is favo@#$ing awesome), animated tiles if im correct and too much stuff. its in another level. but you have to know how to code in gml. the drag n drop system NEEDS to know gml and cannot compare to c2 at all. c2 in this is superior. im waiting what can i do more?but i think its very close.

They did hire more people in the near past.

Yes, I know. There are 3 programmers now in Scirra but it's still less than Clickteam and I thought C2 is more popular than fusion.

I don't think it would be smart to just release it without first building up some awareness prior to launch.

Also, based on what has been said about improving the plugin system, I wouldn't be surprised if Scirra gathers some plugin makers prior to launch to create some plugins for c3. I know Ashley has stated that he doesn't want to spend time creating things like tilemap editors and sprite editors, so perhaps they'll leave these sort of things to plugin makers, assuming the plugin system is improved greatly and ties into the editor really well.

I think there would be no problem in showing a bit of Construct 3

A screenshot that will feed to the users

A screenshot showing that Construct 3 is alive

Would be a detail towards the users who hope to buy or update to Construct 3

Prominent yoyo games tweets at 11th of October the update v1.4.1763 and the next day upload a short video of "#Time2MeetYourMaker" without any warning and that's for me is suddenly. in almost 3 weeks (2nd of November) they gave beta keys every day and now their users can buy a license with a discount even if gms 2 is in beta phase. at the other hand fusion 3 uploads every Monday a post about 1 new feature in F3. i prefer the first method. there is not "smart and not smart method", imho of course, about promoting. if your engine is really offering many new features, buyers will follow.

yeah, but gms2 still isn't officially released- look at the time they're using to promote it. They haven't just released it officially without warning, it's been a slower process easing people into beta and familiarizing everyone with what it offers before they go official- they're using the beta to analyze problems an fix them before release, etc.

i think this should happen to c3 too. whats wrong with it? when i said suddenly i mean that no one expect gms2 any time soon before 2017 or even 2018. it was a happy surprise. so maybe it will happen with c3 too. so i think that the silence of ashley is not necessarily that c3 waits the "opponents" to official reveal their products. why to care about them? he's got almost 4 million downloads. either is the silence before the storm either the silence cause there is nothing yet to speak of (but who want this?). But as i said i feel that "suddenly" even in beta first, c3 will be out really soon.

    why to care about them?

    Is that a serious question?

very serious if your product is superior you have nothing to fear. and at the opposite then why the "opponets" didnt wait for c3 to came out first? they dont care they do their best they have their customers. if gms 2 adopt the c2 behaviour system and editor system you and i propably not being here commenting. they dont care. also fusion they dont care their editor will be almost identical with mmf2 -with some more friendly design touches- but not dramatically change at all. its not serious imho to say that c3 waits in the shadows and not show some new features cause fusion and gms is at the corner and maybe steal ashleys ideas when at the end of the day construct came from mmf.

Ashley , i have a suggestion for C3 if i'm not yet too late. I just played around with GMS 2 and i've found out that the program is bloated...

I can understand that Unity is heavy for a reason but GMS 2 is far heavier (sluggish) than it for useless reasons like it's start page and transitions.

On GMS i can still do stuffs fast (still not as fast as C2) but in GMS2 it's a bit unresponsive. It's not my computer specs since i can do stuffs in Unity3D quite fast but GMS 2's use of their network inside the application causes unnecessary processes.

I hope you develop C3 as lightweight as you possibly can.

If C2 is any indicator, I doubt that you have to worry about this.

Can someone tell me what THIS IS?? https://www.construct3.com/

It is Scirra's presskit for C3.

Yeah, but i just saw it, and no one has been talking about it. So many people are complaining about not having news and this website does list a few. Inlcuding one of my wild guesses: A editor plugin SDK. Which is awesome.

That website is last year's (nearly 2 years) update of Construct 3. The supposed purpose of this topic is to gather news about Construct 3's progress in the past nearing of 2016. Which until now, we haven't heard any news or update from Ashley but maybe for a very good or bad reason.

You should read this to catch up: https://www.scirra.com/blog/155/the-future-of-construct
