Something happened to my Construct and now when I'm editing a condition/action, focus is not set to the first field.

See this gif - the "Value" field briefly receives focus and then loses it..

I spend many hours every day coding in C3, and this seemingly small issue is causing me a lot of frustration. Does this happen to anyone else?

The autofocus works correctly in Firefox. So if this a Chrome issue - how can I fix it? (I tried disabling all extensions and clearing cache, it didn't help)

oosyrag No, must be a different issue. And that flag they mention is no longer available.
This only happens in event dialogs, I haven't noticed any other problems with focus in Chrome.

I just tried it in Chrome in the latest stable and beta and it seems to be working fine.

Do you have any browser extensions installed? They can interfere in various ways.

I am using the latest Chrome version 94.0.4606.54, and I deactivated all extensions, it didn't help.

I also tried several different Construct releases - from r234 to r263, they all have this problem.

I actually can replicate this.

If I create a new event, like 'compare values' the field has focus.

But if I open/modify the existing event the first field has focus, but when clicking Back, and then choose the action, the field do not have focus, exactly like you show.

Maybe something changed in a Chrome update. If you can reliably reproduce it please file an issue.

You mean with Chrome support? How do I describe the problem? "Focus doesn't always work in some 3rd party app I'm using" - I really doubt they will look into it.

No, I meant with us. We can probably work around it if something's changed. As ever filing issues is the way to report problems, things only mentioned on the forum are easily lost or forgotten.

Any update on if this is getting fixed? It certainly messes with workflow:

1. Add condition

2. Select object for condition

3. Type condition using search *(Can't do this because it doesn't focus search box anymore)

4. Press enter to pick that condition

At step 3 when I start typing focus goes to back button, so when I hit enter I end up back at selecting an object for conditions.

could it be a mouse issue? sometimes when I click too fast or double click (or set my mouse speed all the way up), it quickly changes focus to wherever my mouse is... and I will type S..P..R.. and realize I'm not in the search field.

It can even happen when pressing enter at step 2 rather than clicking with the mouse.

After further testing it looks like this is the trigger to cause focus to automatically divert away from the search box:

1. Add action or condition

2. Select an object

3. Go back out into the condition/action page

4. Select another object

5. Loses focus each time.
