I was just looking for feedback, not trying to start something, but I think it should be a thing too.

Reddit influences everything lol. Almost every major subreddit has weekly themes now. But I also agree, as a redditor I like weekly tops over permalinked ones. Gives exposure to the people currently using the forum instead of people who may have left a long time ago.
