text object question

Hi Scirra gurus,

is there a way to manipulate the text object so that i can change the background color or maybe add a border outline

i tried the textbox addon, but that gives a depth to the text that i'd rather not have

Not with the text object, but you could try the spritefont plugin if you want more control of the text appearance:

I think he speaks about textbox and not text object.

You can play with the borders property to disable the '3d' effect.

got it to look flat with a background color by disabling it
