Slider Bar & Dropdown List overlaps layer above?

Hi!

I did some searching but couldn't find anyone else that have posted about this.

I have a layer with a dropdown list as well as a slider bar, and then a layer over that with a solid color sprite that has 50% opacity that covers the whole layout, so that anything underneath its layer is blacked out a bit.

Both the slider and dropdown list seem to show through the overlapping layer though, as if it's not affected by the overlapping color. Why is that and is there a fix for it?

You can't display anything above (in terms of layers) the form control objects such as button, slider bar etc.
