How do I skew or distort a sprite?

I just want to know if there's a way to achieve this kind of transformation, even if I have to use plugins or effects, so I can create a 2.5D illusion for a project I've just started.

I don't want anyway to suggest that C2 goes 3D!

I think i depends of the view you want to use.

Is it top-down or viewed from the side like a sidescroller?

Depends on the view and plugins you're using. However to achieve the effect you're asking I suppose I would use a textured Mesh.

Try using Google to search "2.5D" or "mode 7" and Construct2. You can't find samples with Scirra's search restrictions, but you can still find some via Google. There are many examples.

I've managed to create the illusion of perspective change for trees following the idea of the link below, but not for objects with geometric shapes.
