How do I rotate 9path or use 9path image for a sprite

I have an ennemie which is attacking with his tongue. I use a 9 path object because i want resize the tongue to the distance between it and the target. But 9 path can rotate <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /> image a monster which can only fire at 0°

Can i make a the sprite instead and use an hidden 9 path to simulate the image

I don't think rotating a 9-path is possible. The capx I made simulates this though. So maybe that will solve your problem. Otherways. there is a plugin called "Canvas". I have never used it. but I think it can be used for this as well. Although I think that is very computer intensive, as it would require a copy-paste type of simulation every tick. Anyways.
