How do I do to press the same button for diferrent actions?

hi guys! well i have this problem: i made a menu and im trying to navigate in it with the gamepad but when i press d-pad down twice it doesnt work i have three sprites from the first to the second its ok but i dont know how to make the dpad down again with the same d-pad down button. please help! and im really sorry for my poor english.

variable dpadP = 0

if dpad down -> dpadP +1

Sprite image -> set to dpadP

if dpadP =3 -> dpadP = 0
