How do I do point and click side scrolling?

I'm really desperate because I just can't figure this out! Should I use pathfinding, bullet, or what? So I want it to use just 2 directions: left and right, and move that way when you click in either side. I also want it to move even if you click somewhere in the upper screen or whatever, as long as it is in the left or right half of the screen. I know it sounds silly but I really need some help..

You can surely do the same differently. It shows three way of moving, 8 Direction, Bullet and Pathfinding

It says that the file isn't there anymore The thing is that I achieve only stupid things like it only moves when I hold down the click, or it would not stop after the clicked position. It's getting really frustrating..
