How do I open a project without the needed plugin?

Hi. I tried to load an old project in C2 but I cant open it cause the plugin is missing and not available for download anymore. Is it possible to remove this dependency somehow to open it without the plugin?

Firstly, just ask if anyone still has the plugin. What plugin are you missing?

Secondly, it is possible to remove an addon dependency, but it requires you to understand a bit about XML.

You would need to search and remove all references to the addon from the .caproj and the Event sheets etc.

It's the clay.io plugin for leaderboards/achievements.

The original download in the forum here is 404 not found.

I tried deleting it from the project file but this did not work.

Unpack the capx file with WinRAR or some other software to the smaller capoj files, then open the capoj file with notepad++ or any other software which allows you to edit XML, then search for the plugin tag with the name you want to delete, and remove it.

You need to know how XML works thought, otherwise you can ruin the whole construct file.
