moving a sprite horizontal or vertical

I am trying to move a sprite horizontally down 10 pixels when I press Down on the keyboard....

I found a way to make it go fall ten pixels when I press down but never got it to just do 10 pixels once and stay there..im trying to get it to stay at the 10 pixel mark.....

im trying to get the squirrel to flip and look like he is hanging from the tree platforms and then id need to be able to Press Up and reset it back to normal...but then up is also my jump as well..so that all sounds tricky

for the up arrow to work you only have to add a condition is flipped.

so on up arrow pressed

• player is not flipped - jump

• player is flipped - set player back to normal

well now I am all confused. Im trying to use this change state variable thing...because I only want this squirrel to be able to flip when its ontop of the branches(platforms) and when its not it should not be able to continue moving...right now I get it to flip but i can easily move off of my collision of the platform and im flying.... ill post the capx
