  • Hi,

    thanks for reading.

I'm working on a side scrolling platform game.

I've been making backgrounds, breaking them into tiles, and loading them into construct 2; then adding invisible solid blocks for the platforms

That's fine for some levels, but sometimes it'd be better to have less angular lines:

is there a way to make more curvy walkable areas?

    thanks

  • I haven't done any platform games, so might not be 100% correct :D

But I think you can make custom shaped solids, under the one where you say that it should collide against solids, you can change it to custom. Exactly how to use it, I cant remember but you can probably find it in the manual and see how it works.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • You could draw curved solids an then edit the collision polygon to your liking. (http://www.mediafire.com/view/bkyqt5bo9655xh3/colpoly.jpg)

Keep in mind though that more points in the polygon means more resources are needed for the game to check for collisions.
