I want to make a leaderboard for my app for Android
Do I have to use clay.io?
Is there any better way?
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
You can make your own if you have your own server/ or have a account on a hosting site.
I use www.freehosting.io and have never had any complaints.

I will give this a try over the next few days. Have been desperately trying to add a leaderboard but still no luck. Are there any hidden fees or anything else I need to know for using ?
