How do I can generate a position and exclude area

Hi I have big probleme I want to generate a position in a square to create an object but I don't want to creat this objet near my player so how can I do that , I know the random expression but I can't exclude a part of a big ensemble .https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8mVKnO9GfiHY2NrM1lnOXlYUmM/view?usp=sharing

Simply destroy the object when it overlap the player or use distance comparison from an object to player.
