  • Hi guys,

I hope you'll be able to help me. Excuse me if this is some kind of stupid question, but i worked my way through various tutorials and none of them worked for me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

So I have this game which is some kind of Doodle Jump like platformer. You jump upwards from platform to platform. Those platforms are randomly created and the game never stops. The camera follows the player, there's no automatic scrolling.

What i want to do next is to set a background image (actually various background layers, but let's focus on the simple things first... ) which should be repeated when moving upwards – like, as soon as the upper border of the background image comes down and reaches the viewport, it should be repeated to create a seamless pattern. But I just can't get it to work.

Is somebody able to help me out here? Help would be greatly appreciated

  • Won't a TiledBackground object do this for you, more-or-less automatically?

If you want to randomize it according to a set of possible backgrounds, maybe use a TiledMap object?
