How do I Create a scrolling minimap and a compass

Hi guys im currently making a zelda rpg game and i would love to know how to make a minimap i have watched various tutorials but there map is to small im talking about a map like in GTA5 and aswell as the map there will be a working compass in the corner but i dont kow how to do that either
