Open your project in Intel XDK. Click on "Projects" in top-left corner. Under "Cordova hybrid mobile app settings" click on "Launch icons and Splash screens", then select tab "Android-Crosswalk" (if you are building with Crosswalk).

It is recommended to upload all icon fields, so the icon will show on all devices.

Splash screen is an image (a screen) that shows when you open the app.
