How do I change clothes?

Hello guys I was wondering for along time now what is the best way to change player clothes that he have picked up?

So basically what I was wondering about is how do I change the clothes that he have picked up from the ground onto him?

By Animation? or there are other ways? Remember: The character it self has animations run, run with weapon, crouch, crouch with weapon, and Climb Up the rope, With all of those animations do I need to draw a coat for each animation or there is an easier way? Thank you!

I believe you need to draw a coat for each animation.

For my 2d platform scroller, i draw each object: body, hair, face, shirt, pants all on individual 200x300px image. And place them relatively on that image and animate and variation of those images. On C2 I pin each set of items to one blank one that is the "player movement"

maybe yo can use spriter pro and use the characters maps to create the cloths, and use the event of the scml plugin

append character map "name of the character map"
