blend modes problem

I open a template example called Blend modes'

I try do it with my example sprites and effect is different

other blend modes tries has this same effect

in fact it has no effect

Your example appears to be working correctly. Try looking carefully at the images; you are probably confusing yourself by using two images with the same color, which makes it impossible to see the effect.
