How do I animation of a explosion

I must be missing some thing. I have read about 10 or 12 tut on animation.

I still can't find a way to get my strip in.

I have a small 5 frame explosion Con 2 just look at the old thing not 5 frames.

I click one frame in the frames bar, all 5 frame turn blue.

Maybe some on can tell what I am missing.
