Change delay, create new lines, "backspace" the text
  • Is there any way to improve or change the look of the text in C2?

    example:

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/c2text.png" border="0" />

I can get round round it by making my own buttons and menu objects, but it just adds to the games overheads.

  • Well You could always download a fotn from 1001fonts.com and add it in the game, tought idk if other people are gonna download it to

The one in the pic is Arial, can i use any of the standard fonts that come with xp .

  • Go in the properties window of the text object, tab properties, property font, select the line and you should have a "..." (3 dots) button there.

Click it and you should have a common dialog window allowing you to browse through the fonts installed on your system.

This window should even allow you to choose the format (bold, italic,...) of your text.

  • Apart from what Kyatric says, once the browser is running, the browser decides how the text appears. If you don't like how it looks, you should try another browser or contact the browser maker and ask them to fix it. There's nothing we can do.

  • Thanks for the replies.

I fully understandstand what 'installed fonts' (bold, italics) means.

I wasn't sure if i was limited to a particular 'font' that had to be on the other users computer.

I dont think ringing the Chrome Developers to ask them to change stuff is an option i would go for.

No, but when there's nothing else you can do, it's worth a shot. Fire them an email. If 1000 people have the same problem, shrug, and say "they'll never listen to me", nothing will happen. If 1000 people shrug, fire off a quick email to Google, then forget about it - Google get inundated with emails making it very very clear the users want something. We can't send them 1000 emails for you :)

  • Ashley, if you add file bundling to Construct 2, you can also include custom fonts on the canvas using @font-face.

Providing a transparent canvas shadow on the text element will also anti-alias it. Providing the option to stylize the shadow would also be useful.

Ha this is a good question indeed.

I guess the font you choose would have to be installed on the client station indeed for it to be displayed.

I ended up using Comic sans bold, looks a lot better.

    Thanks.
