Did you "subscribe" to the beta branch ?

On steam right click on construct 2, go to properties you should see an option for the beta release.

Is there a way to keep older versions with Steam? Some betas of C2 have issues that need fixing and you'll might want to try to keep older versions as a backup.

You can go back to the latest stable if you deactivate the option
