  • Hi Ashley Im using C2 for long time and most of the time when i edit a sprite im thinking "it would be awesome if i had a magic hand tool".sometimes its very hard with the eraser to delete some areas (with the same colour) because of the shape of image.and if i got an animation of 80 frames i had to do this 80 times. So a magic hand (or wand if youre using gimp)would be a very good and faster solution. Please think about it.

everyone who read the post and likes the idea please comment so guys from scirra include it in the future.and sorry for my poor english <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Use Photoshop to draw sprites. Solved

  • fassFlash

Ok got it so you are telling that sprite editor inside c2 is not needed?Cause draw a line and rectangle eraser and the other stuff is in photoshop in gimp in microsoft paint and paint.net for years. So why construct has these options?depending your smart answer with no reason.I KNOW i can do it with photoshop or gimp i'm just suggesting a function boy.Solved

  • spy84,

I would agree with fassFlash, and I am not trying for a "smart answer", but here is reasoning.

C2 has inbuilt functionality for quick touch ups, and brainstorming design (square box placeholder for ladder, enemy, etc) nothing fancy.

Rather use other software that is designed for design editing "Game Assets".

In order for C2 to start to incorporate design tools, it takes away from what it actually is.

But, no harm in asking - and it is a plausible request - a nice to have feature, but my thoughts are where does the image editing tools end. I would rather have more game building tools, etc etc etc lol

Try filling with alpha set to zero.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • You do use collision boxes, do you? Oh wait, scratch that. There is a line of sight behavior for AI stuff. By the way, you can call me... Ann Marie! But only if you are partial, to being flayed alive, on a skip rope with your entrails inside out! If not, then you can call me... fassFlash.

Oh, I'm sorry, were you sayin' something? Pardon me!

The sprite editor is used for, quick sketches of what will the actual sprite in the final version be, or for things you don't need a professional image editor for, riding narwhals, drinking babies' tears...

Oh, if I said something wrong, then excuse me. It's just that I find myself suddenly, and irrevocably...

    BOOOOOORRREEEEDDD!!

  • Kastas thanks alot my friend i dont knew this method so thanks for the tip.

    DUTOIT

I understand what you said and maybe your are right but assFlash whith his first post and evenmore whith his last post the only thing he wants to do is to throw something "smart" in the table and nothing more.

Yes C2 is not an image editing program but i think that im in the place where you can write suggestions.to make a function like magic wand in the editor doesnt change the programs orientation its just a function that gives to whoever (me in this case) wants it a solution.i rendered last night a animation in avi of a flamethrower effect.so the avi exported as jpeg movie.and jpeg has no alpha.so it may was handy to have a function like magic wand and be able to select and delete everything behind the flame effect.80 jpegs=800kb 80pngs=>5mb or even more i dont know.

the solution oh you want to do this ok try photoshop problem solved its very childish. So maybe you have problems with cocoonjs and ask for a perfomance boost function-solution its like i post after you an answer like "you want better fps in android? try project anarchy or unity free, problem solved."

fassFlash if i was you mate be sure that ill find yourself dramatically bored.go n play outside leave your pc for a minute try to find a girlfriend.its healthy and it helps.best of luck

  • spy84,

I Agree - nothing wrong with making suggestions.

QUOTE: no harm in asking - and it is a plausible request - a nice to have feature.

I also understand where you are coming from. And I'm glad you understood what I was trying to say.

I do agree with fassflash only in the sense that there are better softwares out there to do certain things. I don't agree with anything else she says. I don't like conflict and will say - her second post wasn't very cool at all.

Nice - learnt something - thanks

all good, if ashley and the rest of the team wants it in c2 i just throw an idea.i wish the program grow on and on in every aspect. I take the solution of gimp for now anyway..thanks for the talk.
