  • Hello everyone and sorry for my english ...

I did some testing on the game that I'm creating ....

The layout of my project is large 850 x 500, and calculates with 13 layer support parallax ..

when I export the project select "crop" or "letterbox scale" but in this way the game slows down to 60 fps per second to up to 20 ...

So, I tried to disable the "full screen" and I tried to zoom in the browser (chrome) or CTRL + MOUSE WHELL getting the same result as "letterbox scale" without slowing down the game ....

obviously it would be inconvenient something similar ...

someone tell me an effective way to make the project a full screen losing a bit of quality losing some fps? the options I tried are drastic, without zooming chrome lose about 30 fps per second ...

thank you very much to all

  • Ribis - I've noticed the same thing, as well. Even in projects with very few objects on the screen at once. Switching to full-screen always affects the fps, but I'm not sure if it's something only C2 suffers from--it might be a general issue with games.

    thanks for reply :)

I have always used Flash to create interactive sites with a very complex (all running in full screen without lag)

but it is very strange that with scirra this happens, because compared to action script html 5 is faster ...

is a real shame, I'm developing a 2D platformer with 14 layers that interact with each other, where I entered the wind that moves the physical objects ... etc objects between sprite, written etc. .. are about 100 and everything moves perfectly, 45/60 fps stable

I also integrated joipad for the movement of the player and everything works fine if it is not in full screen ... (700 x 500)

I also tried to disable all visual effects such as wind, smoke, dust particles carried by wind ... etc. .. and trying in full screen continues to lag ... I also tried to remove the layers leaving 7 ... just keep going shots ...

the game in full screen makes everything more effect ... in addition to being beautiful you are immersed in the game better ...

    thank you very much

  • I agree - games look much better when running in full screen. I'm not sure if it's certain effects or certain settings that cause the issue, but I'd be curious to find a solution.

Let us know if you can find what's causing the hiccup--or maybe someone more experienced can chime in and offer an explanation.

  • Now I will try to analyze the various events and various collisions to find a solution ...

if I can solve'll let you know here

    thanks

  • Ribis - I got excellent performance with one game but there were less than 10 objects on the screen at once. Another game I ran with a lot more than that (100 or so) seemed to slow down significantly. The only other difference was in the layout size. Maybe it has to do with that size or the window size that's being scaled? I'll play around with some options as well.

    Good luck, sir!
