    , Was C2 slow before?

I'm guessing your laptop rebooted after installing the update? Could you try not rebooting it for a couple of days and see if C2 slows down?

I've had this problem for ages. I mean for well over a couple of years and it's definitely W10 and not W7. It's something in the framework used to compile the c2 editor - when it starts you can see it cycle through different window sizes as if it might be crashing, and if you right click delete an object from a large project then it either freezes (with Not Responding) or it glitches through highlighting different objects for a number of seconds. After a while the editor becomes terribly slow for no apparent reason.

The first step on the road to understanding this problem is for scirra to reproduce it. If it can't be reproduced then we're stuck. If efforts won't be expended to reproduce it then we're stuck.

Ultimately, whoever made the framework that the c2 editor was made with owns responsibility for fixing this - and this is something that can only be driven by scirra. There's plenty of of evidence here if they need some help identifying the problem.

I seriously doubt Microsoft engineers can help with a third-party application they have never heard of.

There are Microsoft engineers whose job is literally exactly this.

Since the evidence points to this being a third-party issue and you don't seem to want to co-operate, closing this report.

    Ashley,

If you think D0p2000 is not being co-operative, take a step back and look. D0p2000 is more than co-operating. He created a thread and asked reasonable questions. He has offered up his time and provided you with lots of options and details. As a response, you closed the bug. That is not helping anyone.

Instead of being so hostile and jumping on any chance of closing these threads everytime, how about creating a safe environment people can openly discuss the issue and come up with solutions? You know, be proactive instead of discouraging any type of talk about the issue.

There are a ton of stuff still to try and a ton of workarounds that help mitigate the issue. I can't post any of them without thinking you are going to ban me or just close the thread for doing so. As a result, I have numerous people msg'ing me for these suggestions, more and more each day. It is a tad crazy when you think about that...people have to PM me for help, because they don't want to be called a troll or get banned by you for questioning this bug.

It is clear you are not going to give the time required to assist people in figuring it out (yes, you have given time, but not enough time to properly help your users and that is OK given how busy you are...). The least you could do is create a safe and open environment people can try and figure it out. Considering we are all trying to solve an issue that includes running your software, that sounds completely resonable to me. Open up a thread, acknowledging people are getting this issue. Set some ground rules and let people gather solutions together. Let people feel safe in your forums, and who knows, maybe C2 will run on W10 like it does on W7 one day. Perhaps a thread similar to the NW.js roundup thread would be helpful.

dop2000 little update from my side..

I spent last twenty-four hours doing intensive use of Construct2 after windows 10 updated, without reboot my notebook, everything is still OK.

I have also done various "tests" how to launch twenty Construct2 sessions with related open projects, or close and reopen the software dozens of times, and I have not found any anomaly.

    everything works perfectly.

Since the evidence points to this being a third-party issue and you don't seem to want to co-operate, closing this report.

Oh, so it is me who is not willing to cooperate? I have no words....

I deal with thousands of bug reports. The vast majority of them are just fine. Reports like this are extraordinary in how combative and difficult they are to deal with. It is unacceptable to treat the staff with such distrust and accusations, and I am not obliged to investigate any issues where people are behaving unacceptably, especially when it's a third-party issue. We usually help with third-party issues out of good will, but if you make this difficult, we will run out of good will and simply stop working on it. If you don't like this policy, go and use different software.

    ...

Arguing about whether or not what you did qualifies as trolling or not ("meta-trolling"). It is up to the judgement of our staff.

, you were already on a final warning - you have repeatedly done everything in that list time and time again. 7 day ban. Next time, you will not be unbanned.
