r120.2 does not install on Windows 8?

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download scirra.com/construct2/releases/r120.2/download

2. Run construct2-r120.2-setup_5840894.exe or run as administrator

3.

Observed result:

Windows 8 banner: "This app can't be installed on your PC"

Expected result:

Same install experience as with construct2-r119-setup_5802789.exe

Browsers affected:

Chrome: yes/no

Firefox: yes/no

Internet Explorer: yes/no

Operating system & service pack:

Windows 8 Pro

Construct 2 version:

r120.2

I installed on a win 8 32 and 64 bits (desktop and laptop) as well.

Try check your antivirus.

No problem for me, either, on Windows 8 Pro, so not C2's fault. TELLES0808's suggestion seems a good place to start hunting.

Thanks for the replies. I do not have an antivirus and have full admin rights on my pc. As posted, r119 installs just fine. I even uninstalled it. When 120.2 failed, I was able to re-install 119 without a problem.

Since there was not a single "me too" I will keep investigating. It was very helpful just to know that someone else could install on Win 8 Pro.

Sorry for the false alarm. I re-downloaded the exe and it installed fine. Turned out the first download, although it looked perfectly normal, was zero bytes. I've never seen that without some kind of failed download alert being raised first...but then again, I am new to Windows 8.
