  • Oh... My... Goodness...

Ashley, it looks like you fixed it...

Thank you. Thank you all for your support! Google chrome hasn't fixed it yet on their end but I'm sure they will soon, thanks to Ashley's help.

  • Ashley to the rescue! Brilliant work, mate, absolutely brilliant...

And thanks to you too sqiddster, who knows when this would've gotten fixed if not for your campaign to make it happen? <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Heh, don't forget we still need to have lots of people testing to make sure the stuck-keys bug is gone too, I can't be certain myself that that one is fixed!

  • I did test it comprehensively, and I have become quite the expert at incurring the bug ;). I am 99.9 percent sure it is fixed.

SullyTheStrange, my campaign is not entirely selfless... I am quite desperate to release my first game, is all ;)

  • It works here too! Thanks Ashley! :D

  • Nice work Ashley <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> . Also thanks to Sqiddster for bringing this to everyones attention.

  • veryone - I've had a one-off mail from Google about the issue so they are paying attention, and I have found a workaround so it should no longer affect C2 games from r79+. It still looks like a legit bug in Chrome/WebKit though so the report is still useful, and may affect other HTML5 game devs since the workaround isn't really intuitive.

Posted by Ashley in the chromium bug report (link in the first post).

  • I think we got a winner here! I've just spent the last 45mins playing the living f*ck out my project, and I can now safely blame the reasoning for dying so much at my own game is because i totally suck at it, rather than the keys getting stuck again :)!

    Thanks, great work Ashley!!!

  • Heh I think it may have been fixed in Chrome 18 beta anyway since I can't repro it there, but... got there in the end anyway...!

  • Ashley: Good job, congrats, all praises, wow.

  • It's really working. Good work. Thanks.

  • Aww... c'mon! Of course it doesn't work in an iFrame... exactly what I needed to have it do :/ .

Any idea when Chrome 18 is released, and is the bug properly fixed in it?

  • Chrome 17 was just out recently and usually a new release is out every 6-8 weeks.

The workaround is causing serious issues with keyboard input to iframed games, which is a pain. I'll try and get both working, hopefully we won't have to wait for Chrome 18.

  • Thanks, ASHLEY.

It's a bit deflating to have waited all this time, found an awesome fix, and then find out it doesn't work for my intended export :(

    Good luck finding a workaround!

  • Wait... Ashley, does r79.4 fix the mouse/keyboard bug in iframe games, or just fix the loss of keyboard input?

Also, how are you going in finding a workaround to the iframe problem?
