Crashing when starting new project - release 158.2

Minimalist Crash Balls is a game where the goal is to hit the ball on the portal, with 20 different levels :)
  • Link to .capx file (required! If link is blocked remove the and parts):

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Start Construct 2.

    2. Click File? New.

    3. Select New empty project?

    4. Click "open".

    Observed result:

    Construct 2 crash-quits. Windows shows "Construct 2 game creator has stopped working" error message. No further error messages given.

    Expected result:

    Starting a new project

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: n-a

    Firefox: n-a

    Internet Explorer: n-a

    Operating system & service pack:

    Windows 8.1 running under Mac OS 10.9.1 Boot Camp.

    All drivers current.

    Construct 2 version:

    158.2

  • This issue is always caused by broken graphics card drivers. Double-check you have the latest drivers available - check directly from the manufacturer.

  • I am running the latest drivers: they're supplied by Apple.

  • I think I have discovered the problem.

    When I attempt to run Construct 2 within a virtual machine within Mac OS 10.9, using Parallels and my Boot Camp installation, the crash occurred.

    When I ran Construct 2 after booting directly to Windows 8, the crashes didn't happen.

    Apologies for reporting a non-bug.
