  • TheRealDannyyy - Have you tried opening a big project with C2 r229? I get a lot of errors and very significant lag & slowness on projects with a lot of objects on r229 but fast on r228.

That is basically what I meant by saying "I will do some testing with my stresstest and my main game".

I never had the issues that you addressed your recent bugreport and I really tested this out, trust me on that regard.

The only thing I've noticed is that it takes almost twice the amount of time to load my large project now but to be honest, I'd rather take a longer one time loading sequence than having to deal with reloading the project over and over again.

However the update is still quiet new and all I say right now is based on the current situation of things.

  • Well I think we can chalk this one up to the icons and Windows GDI weirdness then. If you have a large project and the editor becomes sluggish after a while, it seems the new icon caching mode is a workaround.

It seems to work even after getting sluggish for 5-10 seconds it gets stable again by itself, before I had to restart C2 as a whole.

I guess that you can wrap this up as solved, if other people come up with the same issue they can feel free to create a new report.

    Thanks again!

  • I've been having this problem since 3 months ago; tried disabling the autosaves and messing with icon caching, but those didn't work.

I ended up stopping the problem by minimizing C2 and then un-minimizing it.

Still happens every 30 min or so though.

It was incredibly annoying having to close C2 and then reopen it, but I'm okay now with just having to minimize it

  • Since the latest updates I'm having no trouble at all. Just like TheRealDannyyy says, even if the front-end get a bit sluggish it stabilizes itself after a couple of seconds. I never experience any freezes anymore. I have tried this on four devices. Perhaps it's time to close this thread and see it as a solved issue?

Thank you for the support Ashley, great work!

  • End of the month, all fine!

Refreshing method works for me and it runs like a charm after doing that.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in finding a solution and thanks Ashley for solving it!
