trying to open a project from december 11 with the latest beta 88, and get this error message

I don't think this is a bug, you are missing a third party behavior. The error message was improved in recent builds, but old projects don't support the error message which tells you exactly which behavior, so you'll just have to try to remember I'm afraid.
ah ok, i will try to add these. in "younger" projects the error was clearly.
