How do I get the system date?

For having a daily bonus, I think I need to ask the system date, to compare it to the last saved (= last session) date.

I am not able to find a way to get the current date.

there's a plugin (somewhere, a search will fine it), but there's no inbuilt method. an easy solution would be to use AJAX to request it from a server, if you have a server available.
